Plucking from the past to craft a charming luxury dining experience.

Nesco is a 90 year old Indian titan of industry that in 2018 transformed into a multi-vertical powerhouse. As part of this expansionary vision they were looking to craft a unique dining experience under the banner of their F&B division Nesco Foods. The restaurant, named Dress Circle, was to be a throwback to the dining lounges of the past, where entertainment and gastronomy came together. We were commissioned to build the identity and design language for the restaurant, and work together with the interior team to create a seamless, ethereal experience.




As part of their vision, the clients wanted the space to capture the spirit of bygone Bombay, a center for culture, art and architecture, where Art Deco flourished. Taking our lead from the name of the restaurant, we looked to nature and plucked inspiration from the plumage of the most colourful creatures, the Birds of Paradise, who dress themselves in a range of bright, over-the-top colours and shapes. Each bird and its feathers were reimagined in the Art Deco style to craft a truly hedonistic environment reminiscent of the 1920’s and 1930’s clubs of Mumbai. This allowed Dress Circle to take its place as a world-class lounge, that is quickly evolving as a hub for the city’s elite to gather for exciting social events and dedicated theme nights. A place to network, dance and celebrate.
